3D Printing to Pewter Casting – 2 Day Workshop

Learn to turn a 3D model into a pewter cast object.

Pewter is a malleable metal alloy with a low melting point. It is a great material to create quick and simple metal cast objects with no/low equipment investment.

In this workshop you will learn basic 3D design in Autodesk Fusion 360, designing a small medallion. You will export your model and print it using a 3D printer. After cleaning up, you will cast a mold in silicone. This will be the end of day 1.

On day 2 you will remove your model from the mold and prepare the mold for casting the pewter. You will pour molten pewter into your mold then clean and polish your cast medallion.

This class has the following requirements:

A laptop with Fusion 360, latest version of Cura slicer. You will not have time to install the applications during the workshop and no computer workstations will be available.

You are not required to have previous experience. This workshop is intended for beginners but will not go into further details than the exact steps required to complete each objective.

This workshop will be split into 2 DAYS due to the curing time needed for the silicone molds.
