Site 3 – All Systems Are Go!
The paperwork has been signed, the deposit has been made! We’re in a space, WE HAVE A SPACE, it is maybe the best space we possibly could have hoped for. On July 1st, Site 3 will be opening its doors to members and people within the community we’ve been building. Our space is a 2000 square feet, two-floor building right by the corner of Bloor and Ossington– about 150m from the Ossington TTC station.
How amazing is our space? Let me show you how amazing. It is really, really amazing. Jonathan found it for us. There will be better pictures soon. It is AMAZING and GREAT and we are terribly, terribly excited for the projects and classes a space like this can support. With your help, naturally – always with your help.

Our front door is in fact this cool.

The first floor has been used for years as a metal shop, and is exactly what we wanted for workshop space. Large garage doors will let us move equipment in and out, and there is plenty of space for vehicles to load or unload without blocking traffic. We are also in an alley, which should help with The Traffic Thing. |

A concrete floor and built-in ventilation system allows for welding and heavy machinery use indoors. The electrical system is wired for 600V three phase power and 30A circuits, with power drops all over. |

The second floor is an open area that can be used for classes, workshops, smaller project work, and lounge space. Because it’s open, we can reconfigure the space for different types of events: workshop seating round tables, presentation seating facing a projector, or gallery events with the room open except for projects and installations. |

A balcony overlooks the front of the building, directly above the garage doors. Guess where the grouse is to be consumed. No-where. Trick question, there will be no grouse. |
Seriously, people. Check out our awesome, formerly-a-blacksmith’s-shop space. Is it not the nicest garage and classroom we could have possibly hoped for? It sure is. Now come buy in so that we can build amazing things.
